MANCHESTER, N.H. — A new poll indicates that New Hampshire Democrats have a chance of taking back the House on Election Day.

The WMUR Granite State poll shows 41 percent of people approve of the current Legislature, which has a Republican majority. The poll also shows that 36 percent disapprove.

When residents were asked whether they plan to vote for a Republican or Democrat in the state House races this November, Democrats led a generic ballot, 40 percent to 33 percent.

The telephone poll of 638 residents was conducted Sept. 27-30 by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center. The sampling margin of error was plus or minus 3.9 percentage points.
