It has been my privilege to serve the people of Kennebec and Somerset counties as an assistant district attorney.

This November, we will choose a new district attorney, and the differences between the two candidates could not be more stark.

One, if elected, would be the least experienced Maine criminal law attorney in our office.

The other, Republican Darrick Banda, has many years of Maine criminal law experience, including multiple years as a criminal prosecutor in Kennebec County.

Banda is ready to step in immediately and try tough cases, answer late-night calls from officers regarding complex investigatory issues, and offer guidance to less-experienced prosecutors.

Our district attorney is the lead law enforcement officer for two counties, and is tasked with ensuring the safety and protecting the liberties of all citizens residing therein. Relevant experience is a critical requirement, and only Banda has it.
