Staff report

GORHAM — Benton native Janie O’Halloran scored her first collegiate goal in the first half and the Colby women’s soccer team beat the University of Southern Maine 3-0 in a non-conference game Wednesday.

Annie Papadellis and Cami Notaro also scored for Colby (7-3-0).

Emma Marjollet and Grace Dickinson had assisxts while keeper Emily Brook needed to make just one save to earn the shutout.

Men’s soccer
 
USM 1, UM-Farmington 0:
Forward Mazen Aljari scored the lone goal while keeper Jeremy Turner had nine saves to lead Huskies  at Prescott Field.

UMaine-Farmington (1-12-0) out-shot the Huskies 23-12, but it Aljari’s shot in the 16th minute proved to be enough for the Huskies (4-9-0).

Boys soccer

Erskine 3, Cony 1: Zack Isbell scored two second half goals to snap a tie game and lift the Eagles to a 3-1 win over the Rams in a  Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game in Augusta.

Tyler Adams had given Erskine (6-2-4) a 1-0 lead in the first half before Matt Canwell scored for Cony (3-9-1).

Jared Gartley stopped three shots for Erskine while Cony goalie Brandon Elwell had 11 saves.

Winslow 5, Gardiner 1: Gabe Smith scored three goals to lead the Raiders to the KVAC B victory in Winslow.

Evan Clark added a pair of goals for Winslow (9-1-2). David Grant and Taylor Roy each had assists.

Josh Caldwell scored the lone goal for Gardiner (1-10-1).

Maranacook 3, Mt. View 1
: Alec Daigle and Kody Solmitz scored second half goals to snap a 1-1 tie and lead unbeaten the Black Bears to the KVAC B win in Readfield.

Kent Mohlar scored for the Black Bears in the first half.

AJ Freeman made five saves in goal for Maranacook (12-0-1) while Mikey Eustis made 12 for Mt. View (9-3-1).

Girls soccer

Maranacook 2, Mt. View 0: Lindsey Perkins scored two goals as the Black Bears beat the Mustangs in a KVAC B game in Thorndike on Wednesday.

Elizabeth DiAngelo and Sage Hyland combined for five saves for Maranacook.

Logan Basford had seven saves for Mt. View.
