Skowhegan Free Public Library

The following events planned:

* The Skowhegan Free Public Library, 9 Elm St., winter hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

* The Socrates Café discussion group will meet 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays; all are welcome.

* Family Story Hour begins at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Children can wear costumes. Halloween stories will be read and a craft is planned. Also that day, the Library will partner with the state for a video conferencing program, “Lawyers in Libraries.” Kim Pittman will speak on Family Law from 6 to 7 p.m.

* Our Transition Skowhegan Group will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday. A Jim Murphy presentation will cover “Cooperatives.”

* A book sale at the Masonic Hall to benefit library renovations is set for 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p..m on Saturday, Oct. 20.

The library will celebrate the Coburn Family legacy at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25. Speakers will talk about the legacy this great family has left to Skowhegan.

* The Paranormal program will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26.

* The children’s Halloween parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.
