Hannaford Supermarkets warned customers that two bakery items may have contained undeclared allergens and the Red Velvet Cake Truffle and Triple Chocolate Cake Truffle have been removed from its shelves.
The grocery chain said people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg, milk, peanuts, wheat, soy and tree nuts should not eat these products. The products were distributed in Hannaford stores in New York, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Vermont.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the bakery items. Customers who purchased these products may return them to the store for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at (800) 213-9040.
In July, Hannaford suffered two recalls – cantaloupes from a farm in North Carolina due to concerns about listeria and nearly 30,000 pounds of Cargill ground beef that were believed to have been tainted with salmonella.
Hannaford Supermarkets, a unit of Delhaize, operates 181 stores and employs more than 26,000 workers in the Northeast.
