I was disappointed to read in the Oct. 11 newspaper (“Caucus will decide GOP replacement for Bates”) Republican Party spokesman David Sorensen make an unwarranted and unsubstantiated attack on Gay Grant’s values.

I am not sure what Sorensen sees as “extreme” views. Was it Grant’s helping the Boys and Girls Club raise funds to serve the kids in Gardiner? Was it her volunteering to help raise funds for the Randolph food and clothing banks? Was it her coming forward to serve the Gardiner Library Association?

Grant, Democratic candidate for House District 59, has a long record of serving our community with pride, dignity and, above all, civility. I hope that the voters of Gardiner and Randolph will reject Sorensen’s smear against her.
