The endless negative advertising flooding our TV screens from out-of-state groups illustrates the sad state of our national political process.
Outsiders are pouring huge sums of money into negative and false advertisements about candidates for the U.S. Senate.
We haven’t forgotten the excellent job independent Gov. Angus King did during his administration. There was a reason we re-elected him by a substantial margin.
We need someone of his caliber to try to bring common sense and good judgment to our political process in Washington, D.C.
King and I have been friends for many years. I first met him when he and his family moved to Skowhegan about 40 years ago.
He uses a common-sense approach to solving problems. I believe he will continue the Maine tradition of sending outstanding, independent-thinking senators to Washington to represent us, regardless of political affiliation.
