ELLSWORTH — Katey Curtis scored a pair of goals to lead the No. 6 seeded Ellsworth girls soccer team past No. 11 Nokomis 3-0 in an Eastern B preliminary round game.
Maddie Card added a goal and an assist for Ellsworth (11-4-0). Jessica Toothaker had five saves.
Becky Orcutt made four saves for Nokomis (7-8-0).
Football

Skowhegan 38, Mt. Ararat 0: Tyler Savage rushed for two touchdowns and caught a pair of passes from Adam Clukey to lead the Indians to the Pine Tree Conference Class A win inn Topsham. Savage scored on a 70-yard screen pass from Clukey just before halftime to give Skowhegan a 25-0 lead. Clukey also completed a touchdown pass to Grant Benson while backup quarterback Nate Morris rushed for a TD to complete the scoring.
Skowhegan is 4-4 in PTC play while Mt. Ararat is 0-8.
Bangor 37, Messalonskee 14: Cody Chapman rushed for 107 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Rams to the Pine Tree Conference win in Bangor.
The Rams scored on the fifth play of the game when Chapman rushed up the middle for 30 yards. The Eagles responded with an 80-yard drive capped by a score from running back Corey McKenzie. McKenzie led the Eagles with 23q rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Bangor is 4-4 in PTC play while Messalonskee is 6-2.
