I write to support Rep. Sharon Treat, Democratic candidate for House District 79.
I am a 17-year-old student at Hall-Dale High School, a small public school in Farmingdale.
Treat has proved that she is an intelligent woman and a great representative of her constituents. She has shown great qualities of leadership through her work in the state’s House of Representatives.
Gov. Paul LePage has shared his distaste of public schools and has stated many times that he wants to cut a fair amount of spending on educating the future doctors, lawyers and leaders of tomorrow.
By supporting Treat, voters support a candidate who supports the education of our children, and who will not cut spending on education unless completely necessary.
An experienced and committed leader is best for our state, a candidate who supports children and their education.
