It’s election season, and we’re being faced with a lot of overblown rhetoric from both sides of the aisle. We’re seeing this not only in the presidential race, but in our legislative races as well.

That’s why it was so refreshing recently to meet Republican Corey Wilson, who’s running for the House in District 56 in Augusta.

He wasn’t interested in rhetoric. He’s interested in doing what’s right, and in listening to all of his constituents, regardless of their political party.

I urge voters to share their concerns with Wilson as he goes door-to-door around the district. He truly cares about our city and our state; he’s already shown that with his work on the Augusta Downtown Alliance and service in the Marines.

I trust that, after meeting him, voters will be just as impressed as I was and join me in voting for him this November.
