I am writing in support of Rachel Sukeforth, Democratic candidate for House District 80 (Monmouth, Litchfield and Wales).

Sukeforth is a bright, hard-working candidate who will bring a new, moderate and energetic voice to Augusta. She supports our environment, education, economic development and our elderly.

Her opponent, Republican Rep. Melvin Newendyke, has voted for tax cuts for high-income earners and corporations, for a health care law that will hurt our elderly and rural citizens, against the research and development bond that would produce jobs and against the Land for Maine’s Future bond. He also co-sponsored a bill that would have made it harder for people to vote.

I urge others to join me in voting for a change in Augusta. Vote for Sukeforth in Monmouth, Litchfield and Wales.
