We need to send representatives to Augusta who understand that we must reduce our energy costs and dependence on foreign oil if we want Maine to become prosperous.
Mark Andre, Republican candidate for House District 76, has made energy reform a central theme in his campaign. As a small business owner, he understands that high electricity and energy prices are killing opportunities for job creation in Maine.
Andre has pledged to focus on increasing access to natural gas. He also will concentrate on promoting policies that will reduce the cost of electricity and overall energy costs, while incorporating renewable sources such as hydropower into Maine’s energy portfolio.
High energy costs monopolize dollars that can be spent in creating jobs. In addition, they drive up the cost of food, which is becoming incredibly expensive. Andre had vowed to work diligently on finding a solution to this devastating problem.
