SKOWHEGAN — A New York man arrested on drug charges this week after an extended investigation by the Somerset County Sherriff’s Department.

Terrence Allen, 27, of the Bronx, N.Y., was arrested Tuesday afternoon on U.S. Route 2 in Skowhegan on a drug search warrant by the sheriff’s department.

Allen was found with 50 oxycodone pills, worth an estimated $1,750, according to police. He was charged with trafficking of scheduled drugs, possession of scheduled drugs and violation of condition of release.

Allen was out on bail in Maine for a criminal motor vehicle matter at the time of the arrest.

Lt. Carl Gottardi of the sheriff’s department said Allen is also being checked for outstanding charges in other states.

“There has been an ongoing drug investigation for Allen,” he said, although he would not say how long the investigation has been going on.
