There’s a science called cybernetics. It teaches that any organism or machine needs a thermostat if it is to survive. Thermostats provide negative feedback.

Here’s my negative feedback. An ebbing tide strands all boats. Nothing government can do in the next four years will float any of the stranded. There will be no short-term recovery. We live not only on borrowed money; we also, given that, live on borrowed time.

Transfusions are not enough to cure a metastasizing cancer. We overdosed. Nature leaves us no choice. We must go into withdrawal; like it or not. The lotus eaters will tell negative-feedback people to shut up, but it’s too late.
