A Winslow man who is a student at University of Southern Maine was arrested today and charged with three counts of arson for allegedly setting three fires inside his dormitory, according to Steve McCausland, spokesman for the state Department of Public Safety.
 USM junior Jordan D. Maroon, 20, was arrested about 1:30 p.m. and is being held at Cumberland County Jail, according to a press release issued by McCausland around 3 p.m..
  The state Fire Marshal’s Office and University police investigated the fires after they were reported on the Gorham campus about 4:30 a.m. today, the release states.
  A fire was set in a first floor trash can by the main entrance of Philippi Hall, which houses about 200 students; two posters also were set on fire inside the building, it says. No one was injured in the incident, according to McCausland.
