The vulnerable populations in our communities who depend on public assistance were placed in a precarious position due to the unstable condition of the Department of Health and Human Services.

The continued expanding enrollment stressed the system to the point of instability. All the while, Lisa Miller, Democratic candidate for House District 52, sat on the Health and Human Services Committee and then on Appropriations the final two years of her term.

During her three terms, our state audit reported that MaineCare was unstable, hospital debts were accruing, our Budget Stabilization Fund was being depleted from being continuously dipped into all the while Miller was on the committees who had oversight. This is unacceptable.

I urge everyone to remember that with representation like Miller’s our most vulnerable populations were threatened. Why? Because that leadership failed.

Republican Rep. Deb Sanderson has my vote; let’s continue fixing what needs to be fixed.
