Two Paul Wellston quotes come to mind as the campaign season wraps up.
“If we don’t fight hard enough for the things we stand for, at some point we have to recognize that we don’t really stand for them.”
I went to Augusta four years ago to stand up for workers, sportsmen and Maine families. When I campaigned in 2008, I promised one woman on the campaign trail I would fight for the elderly. I have kept that promise every day.
My passion for workers comes from recognizing that U.S. workers are the best in the world and we must operate on a level playing field. That is why I try to mirror in Maine the efforts of U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud in Washington.
“I don’t think politics has anything to do with left, right or center. It has to do with trying to do right by people.”
Rep. Jeff McCabe
