SCARBOROUGH — Falmouth High won its third consecutive Class B state girls’ soccer championship Saturday night, holding off Hermon in the second half for a 2-1 victory.
The championship was Falmouth’s eighth since 2001 and 11th overall, including three in Class C.
Falmouth finishd 14-4-2. Hermon, making its first appearance in a state title game since 1994, finished 15-3.
The Yachtsmen took a 2-0 lead in the first half on goals by Cassie Darow and Megan Miller.
Hermon pressured in the second half, but Falmouth goalkeeper Caroline Lucas made a spectacular save on a breakaway to keep her team ahead.
Hermon would score with 7:29 left on a goal credited to Claire Petersen in a scrum.
