HALLOWELL — The book “Reflections & Recollections: Celebrating Hallowell’s 250th” is on sale beginning this week at Quality Copy, Boynton’s Market and City Hall for $20.

Compiled by city residents Katy Perry and Sam Webber, the book is a collection of articles by Hallowell people that “run the gamut from historic preservation to amusing anecdotes to poignant family memories,” according to a press release.

The book also has dozens of photographs, both from the past and from the present day.

Some of the articles in the book, by both amateur and professional writers, appeared in the Kennebec Journal and Capital Weekly as part of the city’s 250th birthday celebration.

Most of the work for the book was donated and after the small cost of printing is covered, the rest of the money raised by its sales will go to the Hallowell Food Bank in memory of Dot Mithee.
