READING, Mass. — David Russel of Augusta, Maine, has advanced to round two of the Texas Roadhouse National Meat Cutting Challenge.

Russel competed against eight other meat cutting specialists from Texas Roadhouse restaurants across Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire at Burbank Ice Arena in Reading. He will compete against other regional winners in February in Philadelphia for the chance to go to the finals in Maui, Hawaii.

The winner of the final event will receive a grand prize of $20,000 and title Meat Cutter of the Year.
