WINSLOW — Josh Doolan scored three goals as Lawrence defeated Presque Isle 4-2 in its Eastern B boys hockey opener at Sukee Arena on Saturday.

Tyler Boudreau added four assists for Lawrence (1-0-0), while Andrew Carpenter had a goal and an assist and Jordan Nutting had an assist. Kyle McLain made 39 saves to earn the win.

Alex Michaud and Colin McKay scored for Presque Isle (1-1-0).

Girls basketball

Madison 56, St. Dominic 45: Sam Bruce had 13 points and five assists to lead the Bulldogs to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Auburn. Alex Jarvais added 10 points and 11 rebounds for Madison (1-0) while Bronte Elias also had 10 points.

The Saints (0-1) were led by Kelly Pomerleau with 15 points and Callie Greco with 11.

Forest Hills 62, Vinalhaven 31: Anna Carrier scored 20 points to lead the visiting Tigers to the East/West Conference win.

Kori Coro added 16 points for Forest Hills, which swept the two-game series to start the season 2-0. The Tigers won 67-43 on Friday night. Dana McNally also scored in double figures with 10.

Vinalhaven (0-2) was led by Ashley Hamilton with 12 points.

Boothbay 46, Carrabec 37: Abby McLellan scored 15 points to lead Boothbay to the Mountain Valley Conference win in North Anson.

Alex Clarke added 14 points for Boothbay (1-0). Emma Pluntke had 14 points and 15 rebounds for Carrabec (0-1).

Forest Hills 76, Vinalhaven 26: Matt Turner scored 22 points and Derick Ouellette had 20 points and 12 rebounds as the Tigers swept a weekend series at Vinalhaven.

Tanner Daigle had 14 rebounds for Forest Hills (2-0). Thomas Byron led the Vikings (0-2) with nine points.

On Friday, Forest Hills won at Vinalhaven, 84-38. Evan Worster scored 20 points in the win, while Turner and Ryan Petrin each scored 11.

Girls ice hockey

St. Dominic 4, Winslow 3: The Saints scored three goals in the final period, including the game-winner with 7:49 left, to edge the Black Raiders in Auburn.

Miranda Gagne, Brennah O’Conell, and Jennifer Poulin each scored for Winslow (1-4-0). Jessica Cain made 38 saves.

St. Dom’s, which out-shot Winslow, 42-24, improved to 1-3-0.
