My wife and I celebrated our 58th wedding anniversary at a local restaurant on Dec. 1.
After the meal, we asked for our check. We were told that the customers sitting in one of the adjacent booths heard me tell the waiter that this was our 58th wedding anniversary and they paid for our meal. They left before we found out about their generous gesture.
We were there by ourselves and when we found out what had happened, it made us feel like they had celebrated with us.
What a kind and generous thing to do for my wife and me, as far as I know, by total strangers to us.
I hope they read this and understand how good that made us feel. I hope they feel as good as we do about their kind and generous act.
