RANGELEY — Taylor Esty went 6 for 8 from the foul line in the fourth quarter as the Rangeley girls basketball team beat defending Western D champion Richmond 56-54 in overtime Friday night.

Blayke Morin went 7 for 10 from the line in the fourth quarter as Rangeley (1-0) scored 15 points to force overtime.

Morin finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Esty had 12 points and eight rebounds. Tori Letarte added 15 points.

Jamie Plummer scored 29 points for Richmond (2-1), while Alyssa Pearson added 10.

Leavitt 71, Gardiner 44: Kristen Anderson scored 34 points as the Hornets won the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game in Turner.

Mariah Treadwell added 20 points and Meagan Dow had 11 for Leavitt (3-0).

Ally Day had 13 points and 15 rebounds for Gardiner (2-1).

Mt. Ararat 72, Erskine 42: Caitlin LaFountain scored 24 points, including five 3-pointers as Mt. Ararat won a KVAC A game in Topsham.

Bridget Humphrey had 19 points and 16 rebounds for Erskine (0-3).

Kristy Willey added 11 points for Mt. Ararat (3-0).

Lawrence 57, Messalonskee 41: Dominique Lewis scored 21 points as the Bulldogs won the KVAC A game in Oakland.

Paige Belanger added 14 points and Nia Irving scored 12 for Lawrence (2-1).

Mikayla Turner had 11 points and Kelsey Mayo 10 for Messalonskee (1-2).

Mt. Abram 37, Winthrop 32: Miranda Smith had 13 points as the Roadrunners won the Mountain Valley Conference game in Winthrop.

McKenzie Tyler added 11 points for Mt. Abram (2-2).

Cat Ouellette had 12 points for Winthrop (0-4).
