WATERVILLE — Educare Central Maine was recently awarded $50,000 from the Jessie B. Cox Charitable Trust Fund at the Boston Foundation.

Educare Central Maine operates year-round and serves over 200 children ages six weeks to five years, most of whom are low-income and Early/Head Start eligible. Jessie B. Cox Charitable Trust Fund at the Boston Foundation’s financial support will provide continuity of service to children of low-income working parents. Although the grant does not cover continued service for all of the children and families impacted by state cuts and changes, it will reduce the number of children experiencing educational interruptions this year, which includes full-day, year-round care and educational instruction that is individualized and intentional to maximize healthy cognitive, social and emotional development.
