WINDSOR—A local woman was injured Wednesday when her car was hit by a van on Route 17.
Mary Follett, 75, was taken by ambulance to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta with what were believed to be non life-threatening injuries, including a possible broken leg and cuts, said Sgt. Scott Taylor of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.
The second driver, Edward Ross, 48, of Waterville, was not injured.
The crash occurred around 10 a.m., as Follett was driving a 2005 Suzuki station wagon out of a friend’s driveway along Route 17. Ross, who was driving a 2010 Chevy van owned by Kennebec Pharmacy Home Healthcare, was driving east on Route 17 toward Rockland. Follett pulled out in front of Ross’ van, Taylor said.
“He hit her passenger side door,” he said.
Route 17 was closed briefly as wreckers removed the vehicles.
The Suzuki was totaled and the van has significant front-end damage, Taylor said.
There are no charges associated with the crash.
