SALEM TOWNSHIP — Mt. Abram High School recently announced this year’s Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen is Jennifer Rowland.

The DAR Good Citizen Program is sponsored by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and locally by the Colonial Daughters Chapter in Farmington. Rowland exemplifies the following qualities: dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.

She also has academic excellence while participating in seasonal sports and high school organizations as well as volunteering and participating in community activities.

Rowland is a member of the Girls’ Book Club, the Math Team,and the Mt. Abram Regional High School National Honor Society. In the local communities she has been a coach and volunteer for the Special Olympics, as well as a volunteer for the Western Mountains Youth Soccer Association, Sugarloaf Marathon, Carrabassett Valley Canned Food Drive, and an usher and concessions stand volunteer at The Theater at Monmouth.

She also played soccer all four years of high school and played softball for three years.

Rowland is the daughter of Michael and Cheryl Rowland of Wyman Township.
