FAIRFIELD — Lisa Sandy is getting a lot of phone calls these days. SUPER BOWL: Patriots’ Welker OK with being overlooked
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Wes Welker is used to being overlooked.
Prayer Caucus attacks others’ religious freedom
The Maine Prayer Caucus, affiliated with Pray USA, misrepresents its goals in the article “LePage, top Republicans form Prayer Caucus,” (Jan. 18). The caucus says its goal is simply to “preserve the Judeo-Christian heritage of our nation and protect American religious liberty.” I believe the real goal is to have our national government develop a […]
My pick? Take Brady, Belichick to win Super Bowl

What is wrong with the president’s statement: “Imagine what we could accomplish if we followed (the military’s) example”? The military does focus on the mission at hand and work together. What is wrong with asking our politicians […]
THEODORA KALIKOW: Culling old clothes, books can inspire change in ideas, beliefs
Cleaning out is my No. 1 task these days. I’m getting ready to retire and my move out of the President’s House at the University of Maine Farmington to camp in Mount Vernon in June.
NHL: Rested Fleury lifts Penguins by Bruins
BOSTON (AP) — Marc Andre-Fleury hardly looked like a goalie who had just finished a highly intense third period.
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: Assad’s fall would hinder Iran, benefit US, Arab League
Imperial regimes can crack when they are driven out of their major foreign outposts. The fall of the Berlin Wall did not just signal the liberation of Eastern Europe from Moscow. It prefigured the collapse of the Soviet Union itself just two years later.
