BANGOR — A Maine man charged in the death of his 3-month-old son has pleaded not guilty.
Eighteen-year-old Dustin Brown of Bangor entered the plea Thursday in the Nov. 25 death of his son, Xander Brown. He remained jailed with bond set at $100,000 in property or $50,000 cash.
The Bangor Police Department said it responded to a home for a baby that was not breathing. The infant was taken the hospital where he died. An autopsy determined that he had died of inflicted trauma.
Assistant Attorney General Andrew Benson declined to elaborate on the infant’s injuries on Thursday. He told WZON-AM that Dustin Brown has no other children, and no criminal history. Brown’s attorney declined comment.
