WATERVILLE — Mt. Abram graduate Kenni Norton scored a game-high 26 points to lead the University of Maine at Farmington women’s basketball team to a 63-49 win at Thomas College.

Messalonskee grad Holly Oliver added eight points and eight rebounds for the Beavers (4-8, 4-3 North Atlantic Conference).

Nokomis grad Emilee Reynolds led Thomas (3-8, 2-6 NAC) with 15 points. Waterville’s Jasmine Bishop had 13 rebounds for the Terriers.

Girls basketball

Mt. Blue 49, Bangor 42: Gabby Foy hit three of her six 3-pointers late in the game, breaking a tie and giving the Cougars the important KVAC A win in Farmington.

Mt. Blue (6-3) used an 18-9 run in the third quarter to break open the game. Foy led Mt. Blue with 24 points, while Amy Hilton added eight points for the Cougars.

Mary Butler and Cordelia Stewart each scored 12 points for Bangor (6-3).

Girls hockey

Winslow 3, Mt. Ararat 1: Brennah O’Connell and Britany Whitaker each had a goal and an assist as the Black Raiders beat the Eagles at Bowdoin College in Brunswick.

Jennifer Poulin also scored with an assist from Brooke Roy for Winslow (3-7-2). Jessica Cain earned the win with 13 saves.

Anne McIntire scored the lone goal for Mt. Ararat (0-11-0). Alison Nolan had 16 saves.

Boys basketball

Mt. Abram 57, Madison 55: The Roadrunners fought back from an early deficit, then held off the Bulldogs for the Mountain Valley Conference win in Salem.

Trailing 24-18 after one quarter, Mt. Abram (4-5) rallied to take a 52-42 lead into the fourth quarter. Ian James led the Roadrunners with 28 points, while Callun Dixon added nine.

Austin Kane led Madison (3-6) with 19 points, while Dylan Price scored 16 points for the Bulldogs.

Bangor 71, Mt. Blue 28: Conner Adams scored 19 points to lead Bangor the KVAC A win at home.
Alex Campbell added 14 points for the Rams (6-3). Drew Parsons led Mt. Blue (0-8) with 11 points.
