WATERVILLE — Franklin Salvador scored his 1,000th career point as Thomas defeated Bates 77-72 in a come-from-behind win Tuesday in Waterville.
Bates (9-14) led by five with just under two and a half minutes to play. Levi Barnes hit a pair of foul shots on a flagrant foul by Ed Bogdanovich to take the lead for good. Jarrad DeVaughn led Thomas (11-9) with 19 points. Barnes chipped in 11.
Bogdanovich scored 19 points to pace the Bobcats.
Boston University 79, Maine 72: The Black Bears rallied late, but fell to the Terriers in Boston.
Boston University (12-11, 6-4 America East) led 48-32 at the half. Xavier Pollard had 20 points, four rebounds and three assists for Maine (8-15, 3-7).
Women’s basketball
Thomas 85, Fisher 53: Kate McAllister of Pittston scored a career-high 21 points to lead the Terriers to the win.
Messalonskee grad Megan Pelletier scored 24 points for Thomas (6-14), while Waterville’s Jasmine Bishop added 14 points.
Javanna Bernard led Fisher (1-22) with 25 points. Porsha Grayson added 21.
Colby 59, Husson 48: Desi Smith scored 13 points to help the Mules take the win in Bangor.
Diana Manduca and Carylanne Wolfington each scored 11 points for Colby (8-14). Stephanie Comstock scored 24 points for Husson (7-12).
Women’s hockey
Colby 2, New England College 1: Jackie Tavella scored her first goal of the season with 6:28 left in the game to give the Mules the win in Henniker, N.H.
Megan Fortier also scored for Colby (8-12). Brianne Wheeler stopped 34 shots in net.
Madyson Moore scored for the Pilgrims (7-9-5). Kristen Conners made 27 saves.
