PITTSFIELD — Maine Central Institute will hold a student art show April 1-14, at the Pittsfield Public Library.

The exhibit, in honor of National Poetry Month, reflects the integration of visual art and poetry.

Students in grades 9-12 stretched their own canvases and worked with water-soluble oil paints focusing on technique and use of color. Advanced art students also used watercolor, focusing on technique and the creation of an interesting perspective that best reflected the poem.

Library hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call 487-5880.
