UNITY — The Unity Barnraisers will host its annual Easter Egg hunt from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Unity Barn Raisers’ Community Center, 32 School St. Children in Unity and surrounding areas are welcome.

Children of all ages (with accompanying adult) will gather for games, snacks, live music and to make egg baskets. Then, participants who choose will walk across the street to UBR’s Triplet Park for the egg hunt to fill those baskets, according to a press release.

Jim Perry, executive director of the Barn Raisers, said in the release, “because we are expecting a big crowd, we need lots of volunteers to help us serve food, help with crafts and monitor the egg hunt. I am asking moms and dads, grandparents and other relatives to give the Barn Raisers a call at 948-9005 before the event, or to volunteer at the door. It’s a good way to pass the time while the kids are having fun, and a great way to meet your neighbors.”

“Unity Barn Raisers has sponsored this event for years, and it has proven to be a big hit with kids. For many kids, it’s their first introduction to Triplet Park, which is across the street from the Unity Barn Raisers’ Community Center, and which is a wonderful place for free play and organized activities for younger children. I hope families will check the UBR website and the Unity town site for future events,” said Perry.

Unity Barn Raisers is a nonprofit community organization that works to enhance our small town character and rural environment and nurture a thriving community-based economy. The Easter Egg Hunt and other activities throughout the year are part of that effort.
