JACKMAN — No information was available Monday evening on the condition of a woman who was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center on Sunday after a snowmobile accident on Loop Road, according to a spokeswoman for the hospital.

Rayeann Milliken, 22, suffered a severe leg injury and loss of blood, said Jackman Fire Chief Bill Jarvis on Monday. He said the fire department received a report of the accident at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday and an ambulance took Milliken to the town health center, where she was later taken by LifeFlight helicopter to the hospital in Bangor.

Loop Road is part of a subdivision off state Route 15 near the Long Pond town line and is often used for snowmobiling, Jarvis said.

He said the town has seen about five snowmobile accidents with injuries this winter, which is slightly more than usual.
