Lewiston police seek man missing since Friday
LEWISTON — Police on Monday were looking for a man who has been missing since Friday.
Daniel Doherty, 46, of Knox Street, spoke to a friend around 11 p.m. and has not been seen since, said Lewiston Police Lt. Michael McGonagle.
“He seemed depressed,” McGonagle said.
Doherty’s car was found 45 minutes later on the Veterans Memorial Bridge that spans the Androscoggin River between Lewiston and Auburn. Doherty’s wallet and identification were found in the car and his jacket was found in the woods nearby, police said.
Police and Maine wardens have searched the area and the river. The search is ongoing.
