Cate Cronin has been hired as MaineShare’s new executive director, the organization said in a press release.
She succeeds Hildie Lipson, who had served in the role for the past eight years.
Cronin’s career has encompassed 30 years of leadership positions in environmental and educational organizations, with a track record of building organizational strength, according to the release. She served as the first executive director of Maine Island Trail Association.
During the past 10 years, she has led major fundraising campaigns for the Coastal Mountains Land Trust and Maine Farmland Trust and provided consulting services to many organizations, according to the release.
MaineShare was founded in 1989 and works to promote and fund more than 40 statewide organizations working toward long-term solutions addressing root causes of issues in the areas of environmental protection, economic opportunity, health, human rights and more.
