FARMINGTON — The University of Maine at Farmington women’s lacrosse team scored four straight goals late in the game to beat Husson University 10-7 Wednesday.

Ayla Allen scored three goals for UMF (3-6, 1-2 in the North Atlantic Conference), while Messalonskee graduate Maddi Kadnar, Lyndsey Grundy and Miranda Levesque each had two. Beth Lebel added her first collegiate goal for the Beavers.

Hannah Goodenow had 12 saves to earn the win, while Chelsea Kondratowicz had six stops for Husson (3-6, 1-2 in the conference).

Baseball

Thomas 5-1, UM-Farmington 4-3: Skowhegan graduate Cody Vigue scored a pair of runs and earned the save in the first game as the Terriers split a doubleheader with the Beavers in Waterville.

Joe Sullivan pitched a complete game, allowing one run on four hits, while striking out six and walking one to lift UMF to a 3-1 win in the second game.

In Game 1, Dillon Emerson had two hits and four RBIs for Thomas (6-13, 5-1 in the NAC). The Terriers scored three times in the fifth and twice in the sixth to secure the win.

Erskine graduate Tom Grady had a hit and an RBI in Game 1 for UMF (3-11, 2-8 in the conference).

In Game 2, the Beavers scored two runs in the first inning and tacked on an insurance run in the fourth to pick up the win. Brian Jenkins had a pair of hits for the Beavers.

Southern Maine 16, Colby 3: Erskine Academy graduate Nick Gray and Gardiner graduate Forrest Chadwick each scored twice as the Huskies cruised to a win over the Mules in Gorham.

Grady also had two hits and an RBI for USM (17-3). Chadwick had one hit and one RBI for the Huskies, while Messalonskee graduate Sam Dexter had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Tucker White had five hits, including three doubles, drove in four runs and scored four runs for the Huskies.
Messalonskee graduate Nate Veilleux pitched a scoreless inning of relief for the Huskies.

Cony High School graduate Luke Duncklee had two hits, including a double, drove in a run and scored a run for Colby (7-8).

Men’s lacrosse

UMass-Boston 13, Thomas 5: Donny Delpha had four goals and five assists as the Beacons beat the Terriers in Boston.

Thomas Pettiti added three goals for UMass-Boston (3-9).

Bryan Ferris had two goals for Thomas (2-6).

Colby 16, Southern Maine 4: Ian Deveau had three goals and an assists as the Mules beat the Huskies in Waterville.

Derek Youngman, Keith Fairbrother and Chip Grossman each added two goals, while Greg McKillop had a goal and two assists for Colby (5-6).

Also Wednesday: Maranacook graduate Heidi Shaw had an RBI double in the first game as the Husson softball team beat the University of New England 6-1 in the first game of a doubleheader in Biddeford. Shaw scored a run in the second game, which ended tied at 3-3.
