AUGUSTA — During school vacation week, the Maine State Museum, 83 State House Station, offers activities for families to enjoy. These opportunities for hands-on exploration and family fun are suitable for all ages and are free with the price of museum admission.
Tuesday
* Made In Maine — an interactive tour, 11 a.m.
* Birds, Birds, Birds!, 1 p.m.
* History Touch Cart, 2-4 p.m.
Wednesday
* Made In Maine — an interactive tour, 11 a.m.
* Maine’s Golden Age of Granite Quarrying, 1 p.m.
* Logging Camps, River Drives and Sawmills, 2 p.m.
Thursday
* Ice harvesting on the Kennebec River, 11 a.m.
* Relief rubbings, 1 p.m.
* History Touch Cart, 2-4 p.m.
Friday
* Home in Maine attic games, 10 a.m.-noon
* Relief rubbings, 1 p.m.
The Maine State Museum is open 1 a.m.- 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Admission cost $2 for adults, $1 for senior adults older than 62 and children 6-18 years of age; free for children younger than 6. Maximum charge for families is $6.
