PITTSFIELD — The Pittsfield Public Library will offer the following programs for during school vacation week:

* Professional magician and entertainer Conjuring Carroll Chapman will present a magic workshop at 10 a.m. Wednesday. This workshop is geared for children and adults interested in the art of sleight of hand and misdirection. This workshop will demonstrate easy-to-do magic with ordinary everyday objects. Carroll, vice president of the Society of American Magicians for Maine, has been entertaining families for more than 15 years.

* Celia Yodice, from Healthy SV, will present a Spring Break Smoothie class at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 19. Participants can discover the benefits of fresh whole fruit vs. fruit juice and will make fresh fruit smoothies. Children can learn how to prepare healthful, tasty food.

Advanced registration for these two programs is encouraged to help ensure a successful event. To register, call the library at 487-5880.

The library will be closed Monday in recognition of Patriot’s Day.
