There are people out there who don’t give one iota of thought to the sacrifices that have been made and continue to be made by military service men and women.

The “Support Your Troops” yellow ribbons and license plates seem fewer in number each year.

There are exceptions, I am pleased to report, including some businesses that give a discount to active duty and retired military.

More importantly, when I shop in those places, a staff member takes the time to say, “Thank you for your service.” That has meant a lot to me as I am sure it does to others.

On behalf of military troop and families everywhere, I would like to thank those businesses that make us feel appreciated, not just on Memorial Day, but year around.
