NORTH ANSON — Freshman Mickayla Willette pitched a one-hitter in her first varsity start in the circle as Carrabec defeated St. Dominic, 6-2, in Mountain Valley Conference softball action Wednesday afternoon.

Willette gve up one earned run and struck out three. Sarah Trott had the only hit for St. Dom’s (0-2).
Paige Chadbourne, Libby Chestnut and Ashlee Knight each had two hits for Carrabec, which is 2-0 this season after finishing 2-12 last spring.

Madison 3, Hall-Dale 0: Erika Parker had a triple and two singles as Madison beat Hall-Dale to improve to 3-0, in Madison.

Emily McKenney pitched a complete game shutout, allowing six hits, walking three and striking out seven to earn the win for Madison (3-0).

Morgan Lavasseur and Morgan Rush each had two singles for Hall-Dale (1-1).

Monmouth 10, Mt. Abram 7: Kyle Kemp had three singlesas the Mustangs won their season opener, in Salem.

Taylor Jordan had a double, a triple and a single for Mt. Abram (1-1). Paxton Lessard pitched a complete game to earn the win for Monmouth (1-0).

Erskine 13, Mt. Ararat 4: Alyssa Gartley had four singles and struck out five hitters to lead Erskine to a win over Mt. Ararat to a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win in Topsham.

Phoebe Cram had four singles for Erskine (2-2), while Taylor Boucher had three singles. Emma Robertson had a double for Erskine.

Taylor Pare had two doubles for Mt. Ararat (1-3).

Lawrence 8, Mt. Blue 6: Four different players each hit two singles to lead the Bulldogs to a KVAC A win over the Cougars in Farmington.

Allison Blaisdell, Addy King, Ali Dyer and Molly Moen each had two hits for Lawrence (1-3). Sarah Martin earned the win for the Bulldogs.

Kiana Thompson, Mandi Cumer, Sarah Cummings and Taylor France each had two singles for Mt. Blue (0-4). Addie Brinkman hit a double for the Cougars.

Baseball

Waterville 10, MCI 1: Tyler Bouchard had an inside-the-park home run, a double and three RBIs as the Panthers beat the Huskies in a KVAC B game in Waterville.

Kaleb Kane pitched five innings to earn his first varsity win for Waterville (3-1). Racean Wood added a double and a single, while Aiden Fitzgerald had two singles.

MCI falls to 1-3.

Madison 14, Hall-Dale 0, 5 innings: Freshman Chase Malloy pitched a complete game, allowing one hit, as Madison won a game shortened to five innings by the 10-run rule, in Madison.

Malloy did not walk a batter and threw 57 pitches to earn the win for Madison (1-2). Garrett Emery had two doubles, a single and two RBIs, while Rhett McKenney had a double, a single and two RBIs for Madison.

Nat Crocker had the lone hit for Hall-Dale (1-1).

Erskine 6, Mt. Ararat 2: Sophomore Jake Rideout allowed five hits, struck out nine and didn’t walk a batter in leading Erskine to its first win of the season. The Eagles scored four runs in the fifth inning on two-run singles from Shawn Soucie and Jeff Pulver. Ryan Rodrigue and Pulver each doubled and singled for Erskine (1-3) while Trent Charnock had two doubles and single for Mt. Ararat (2-2).

Mt. Blue 4, Lawrence 3:
Mt. Blue pitchers Jordan Whitney and Cam Abbott combined to strikeout 10, leading the Cougars to the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

Whitney had three hits and drove in a run for Mt. Blue (1-3). Alex Chesley hit a two-run home run for Lawrence (0-4). J.T. Nutting threw a complete game for Lawrence, allowing seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts.

Winslow 11, Nokomis 9: Nokomis rallied for five runs in the sixth inning and four more in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Black Raiders in Winslow.

Winslow (4-0) pounded out 16 hits, including five doubles. Don Camp had three hits for the Black Raiders. Gabe Smith, Dylan Hapworth, Logan Hewes, Alex Berard and Taylor Roy each had two hits for Winslow.

Jeff Ludden had for hits for Nokomis (1-3). Jacob Nichols had three hits for the Warriors.

St. Dominic 8, Carrabec 2: Caleb Dostie went 5 for 5 to lead the Saints past the Cobras in MVC play in North Anson.

Zakary Johnson earned the win for St. Dom’s (2-0), giving up four hits. Carrabec is now 1-1.

Boys lacrosse

Maranacook/Winthrop 17, Mt. Blue 2: Zach Glazier and Jesse Evans each scored four goals as the Hawks cruised to a win over the Cougars in Kents Hill.

Glazier also had three assists for Maranacook/Winthrop (2-1), while Dan Condon had a goal and three assists. Evans also had two assists, while James Canwell and Alex Tooth each had two goals. Levi Emery, Logan Emery, Arnold Stephens and Kyle Morand each had a goal.

Dakota Williams and Sam Taylor each had a goal for Mt. Blue (0-3).

Brunswick 11, Messalonskee 8: Cam Glover scored three goals and added three assists as the Dragons won the Class A East game in Brunswick. Bailey Caparatto added two goals for the winners while Josh Towle led the Eagles with four goals and Ben Weeks scored three. Ryan Erskine scored a goal for Messalonskee whle Jordan Holmes contributed four assists.

Jake Smith made 13 saves in goal for Messalonskee (2-1) while Chris Mrvchin stopped eight shots for Brunswick (4-0).
