AUGUSTA — The Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Maine will hold its annual spring luncheon Saturday, May 4 at the Elk’s Lodge, 397 Civic Center Drive, Augusta, beginning at noon. The cost is $22 per person; advance reservations are required. Last date for reservations Saturday, April 27.
The event is open to nonmembers and persons eligible to join the Society are highly encouraged to attend. Membership in the Society is open to descendants of persons who arrived in the New World aboard the Mayflower in 1620.
A seminar will be held before the luncheon, beginning at 10 a.m., to explain the application process and the requirements for proof of decent from Mayflower passengers.
Information on available sources of genealogical research will also be provided.
