SOUTH CHINA — Alison Gauvin had two doubles and Erskine turned a rare triple play to sink Brunswick 10-0 for the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win Tuesday.

Erskine (3-3) turned the triple play in the first inning. With runners at first and second, Erskine first baseman Emma Robertson caught a line drive, stepped on first and threw to second to force out both runners.

Kaitlyn Sutter had a single and a double as well.

Brunswick dropped to 0-6.

Cony 19, Mt. Ararat 1, 5 innings: Sonja Morse drove in five runs to lead the Rams in a KVAC A game that was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

Morse hit a home run, tripled twice and singled to lead Cony’s 20-hit attack. Maggie Russell added a double and two singles while Molly Russell and Arika Brochu each had three singles. Michayla Dostie added a double and single and Olivia Deeves two singles. Brochu allowed one hit, struck out seven and didn’t issue a walk for the pitching win.

Cony is 6-0, Mt. Ararat is 2-4.

Winslow 4, Maranacook 2: Jessica Pare hit a two-run double with one out in the top of the seventh to lift Winslow the the KVAC B win in Readfield

The teams were tied 2-2 in the seventh before the Raiders rallied. Morgan Clark led off with a single and she advanced on a single by Hillary Libby. With runners on first and second, leadoff hitter Brooke Haskell popped up and the infield fly rule was called.

However, the ball fell to the ground and the runners advanced to second and third. Pare followed with a double to the fence in left-center.

Pare had two doubles and as many RBIs for Winslow (5-2). Ashley Michaud had two singles to lead Maranacook (2-4).

Cony 18, Mt. Ararat 8: Tayler Carrier singled four times while Reid Shostak singled and hit a three-run homer to lead the Rams to the KVAC A win in Topsham.

Cony led 9-1 after three innings and broke the game open with eight runs in the top of the seventh. Charlie Hallak picked up the win, striking out eight in five innings.

Ben Ashouwak led Mt. ararat (2-3) with a double and two singles. Cony is 4-2.

Gardiner 7, MCI 1: Josh McKelvey pitched a four-hitter, struck out 10 and didn’t issue a walk to lead the Tigers to the KVAC Class B win in Gardiner.

Frank Chepke singled, doubled and also stole home to lead Gardiner’s (4-2) offense while Ian Lane singled and tripled and Hunter Belanger singled twice.

Dylan Watrous singled and scored the run for Maine Central Institute (1-5).

Brunswick 10, Erskine 1: John Parker held Erskine to five singles and struck out seven to lead the Dragons to the KVAC Class A win in South China.

Charlie Lowell and Adam Casey led Brunswick (2-5) with two hits apiece while Ryan Rodrigue singled twice for Erskine (1-5).

Winslow 12, Maranacook 5: The Black Raiders scored in double figures for the fourth consecutive game and the fifth time this season, improving to 7-0 with the win in Readfield.

Chase Colford, Dylan Hapworth, Zach Guptill and Don Camp each had two hits for Winslow.

Nick Lacasse had a pair of hits for Maranacook (2-4).

Girls lacrosse

Messalonskee 8, Mt. Ararat 5: Kristy Bernatchez scored five goals and Kristin Kern added three to lead Messalonskee to the KVAC A win in Oakland. Izzy Skinner stopped five shots to earn the win for Messalonskee (4-0).

Sierra Gilley scored two goals to pace Mt. Ararat (2-2).
