I’m not surprised by Kennebec Journal’s report that a former CEO apparently spent hundreds of thousands of unauthorized dollars on private expenses.
The company was doomed when the Gannett family decided to sell it. Many top-notch employees lost their jobs and pay raises, courtesy of hired hatchet people over the years.
I remember when I was proud to work for and with the Gannetts. They were wonderful people.
