For 27 years, Christopher Knight, formerly of Albion, lived in the lakes region of Rome in what one might call an idle and irresponsible lifestyle.
Apparently, he spent his days reading, meditating and stealing to supply his simple lifestyle.
Being in jail will give him an increased idle and irresponsible lifestyle: It will be so much easier for him to obtain his books and food and still otherwise lounge about.
