BINGHAM — A Bingham woman is recovering from a stabbing that took place Saturday night near a laundromat on Main Street.

Rebecca Parker, 33, is in good condition at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, a hospital spokeswoman said on Monday.

Parker was stabbed about 11:15 p.m. Saturday with a knife on the front of a shoulder near her neck during a disturbance, according to police.

The stabbing was part of an incident involving several people in a parking lot next to the laundromat, said Detective Lt. Carl Gottardi, of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department.

Other people reported being physically assaulted, he said.

No charges have been made in the case, and the district attorney’s office will investigate, Gottardi said.
