PORTLAND — Gov. Paul LePage will be the featured speaker at the Portland Regional Chamber’s Eggs & Issues forum this morning, but he has yet to reveal the issues he’ll bring up at the breakfast event.

A description of the forum on the chamber’s website says the governor “will give updates on the State.”

That’s about as much of a heads-up as LePage offered the other two times he was the keynote speaker at the chamber’s monthly event, said Chris Hall, the chamber’s chief executive officer.

No matter the topic, none of the 400 people expected to attend will get a chance to address the governor directly in the question-and-answer session afterward.

Diverging from its usual format, the chamber has asked that questions be submitted in advance to make sure the inquiries are of universal interest to the crowd, Hall said. The chamber usually allows audience members to ask the speaker questions directly.

Hall said the chamber has done pre-submitted questions before when LePage and former Gov. John Baldacci were the featured speakers.

Hall said Tuesday that he planned to sift through the dozens of submissions that night.

Pre-registration was required of those attending the event, which starts at 7 a.m. at Holiday Inn By the Bay in Portland.
