A 23-year-old man was charged with sale and use of drug paraphernalia and an open alcoholic container in a vehicle during a traffic stop for a malfunctioning plate light on Main Street.

Police responded to a 911 hang-up call. An officer determined that a child at a day care center was playing with a phone.
Police responded to a report of an assault. The investigation is ongoing.
May 3
Joshua Byras, 26, of Litchfield, was charged with operating under the influence and violating conditions of release by police responding to a crash on Buker Road. A 17-year-old girl was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. Byras was not hurt. Police said at the time that Byras was driving north around 6:30 a.m. when his Volkswagen Jetta went off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole. The crash destroyed the Jetta and knocked out power in three communities for 90 minutes.
