OAKLAND — Messalonskee sophomore Ben Frazee pitched a no-hitter to lead the Eagles to an 8-1 win against Mt. Ararat in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A baseball game Friday.

The right-hander struck out nine and walked three. Mt. Ararat scored its run in the seventh inning one a pair of walks, a hit batter and a fielder’s choice.

“He was hititng his spots with his fastball and his ciurveball was working really well,” Messalonskee coach Ray Bernier said of Frazee. “He’s probably got the best curve I’ve seen since I’ve been coaching.”

Jake Dexter singled and doubled twice for Messalonskee (7-3)  while Josh Woodard added a two-run single. Mt. Ararat is 3-7.

Erskine 4, Mt. Blue 3: Zack Isbell doubled and scored the game-winning run in the fourth inning on a double from John Suga to lift the Eagles to the KVAC Class A win in South China. Isbell finished with a single and double while Josh Bailey added an RBI single for the Eagles. Jordan Whitney singled home a run for Mt. Blue (2-8). Bailey picked up the pitching win in relief of Jake Rideout. Erskine is 3-7.

Monmouth 2, Madison 1: Kyle Fletcher pitched a complete game, allowing just a seventh inning run, as the Mustangs beat the Bulldogs in a Mountain Valley Conference game in Madison.

Fletcher struck out four, walked two and allowed three hits for Monmouth (7-2). Alex Curtis had two singles and an RBI, while Fletcher added two singles for the Mustangs.

Garrett Emery hit a solo home run in the seventh inning for Madison (4-6). Jacob Johnson and Tristan Emery each singled for Madison’s other hits. Chase Malloy pitched a complete game for the Bulldogs, allowing six hits, while striking out four and walking two.

Brunswick 4, Lawrence 1: Brunswick’s Brady Larson gave up just one hit, a first inning single by Cody Martin, to lead the Dragons to the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

Larson struck out four and walked two. Charlie Lowell drove in two runs for Brunswick (3-6), while Brett Lancaster had a pair of hits for the Dragons.

Derek Raven scored the lone Lawrence (1-9) run on a passed ball in the fourth inning.

Mt. Abram 3, Hall-Dale 2: The Roadrunner scored three runs in the fourth inning to take the MVC win.

Jay Chenard went the distance to earn the win for Mt. Abram, and doubled. Brian Allen took the loss for Hall-Dale.

Winslow 8, Lincoln 2: Gabe Smith had a double, two singles and scored two runs as the Black Raiders had 11 hits using special Mothers’ Day pink bats to earn the KVAC B win in Winslow.

Donald Camp and Zach Guptill each added two singles for the Black Raiders (10-0). Dylan Hapworth and Jake Trask combined to pitch a three-hitter while striking out 10.

A.J. Oliver, Devin Scherer and Timmy Farrar had a single apiece for Lincoln (5-5).

Lisbon 2, Carrabec 1: Austin Gournier doubled and scored on Dillon Clifford’s ground ball in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Greyhounds to the MVC win. Lisbon starter Kyle Bourget struck out 13 and walked one while Carrabec’s Levi Murray fanned six and walked one. Trent Richardson singled home a run for Carrabec (3-6). Lisbon is 5-6.

Waterville 6, Morse 3, 9 innings:
Aidan Fitzgerald hit a two-run double in the top of the ninth inning to lift the Panthers to the Class B victory in Bath.

Tyler Bouchard had three hits, stole a base and scored three runs to lead the Panthers (7-3). Fitzgerald finished with a pair of doubles and drove in three runs. The catcher also threw out four runners trying to steal bases.

Brian Bellows led off the ninth with a single and advanced to third on a double by Bouchard. Fitzgerald followed with the three-run double down the right field line.

AJ Godin pitched all nine innings to earn the win. Morse dropped to 7-3.

Boys lacrosse

Messalonskee 11, Cony 6: Eric Van Derr Karr had four goals as the Eagles beat the Rams in a KVAC A game in Oakland.

Ben Weeks added three goals and two assists for Messalonskee (5-3), while Josh Towle had a goal and three assists. Conner Leonard also had a goal and an assist, while Ryan Erskine, Aidan Calkins, Sawyer Michaud and Jordon Holmes each had one assist. Jake Smith stopped 12 saves for the Eagles.

Bronson Kieltyka and Austin Davis each had two goals for Cony (1-6). Dan Erbe and John Bennett both chipped in a goal, while Kevin Kingsbury had two assists. Isaac Gingras stopped 14 shots.
