FARMINGDALE — Becca Ackerson hit a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning to drive in Olivia Maynard and Natasha Brown and lift the Hall-Dale High School softball team to a 9-8 win over Lisbon in a Mountain Valley Conference softball game Monday.
Maynard started the rally with a walk and Brown followed with a double. Brown also doubled for Hall-Dale (6-4), while Eva Shepherd had two singles.
Arianna Kahler, Monica Austin and Molly Nicholson each had two singles for Lisbon (3-6).
Richmond 7-4, Greenville 0-2: Jamie Plummer shut down Greenville in a Western D doubleheader.
Plummer struck out four and walked one in the opener. In Game 2, the senior struck out two and didn’t walk a hitter for Richmond (8-0). Ciarra Lancaster drove in a pair of runs for the Bobcats. Kelsie Obi had a pair of hits for the Bobcats in the second game.
Molly Foley struck out three and walked four for Greenville (7-2).
Oak Hill 5, Winthrop 3: Brooke LeBel was 3 for 3 and drove in two runs as the Raiders won an MVC game in Winthrop.
Alyssa Rouleau added a triple, a single and an RBI for Oak Hill (7-2). Kortni Michaud earned the win to improve to 7-0, finishing with eight strikeouts.
Cat Ouellette had two hits and an RBI for Winthrop (5-4).
Erskine 8, Mt. Ararat 0: Taylor Boucher had three singles and winning pitcher Alyssa Gartley also had three hits to lead Erskine to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win in South China.
Amber Grady had a double and a single for Erskine (5-6). Mackenzie Gayer had two singles.
Mallory Nelson led Mt. Ararat (3-8) with two singles.
Cony 14, Brunswick 0, 5 innings: Arika Brochu allowed one single in five innings of work and also homered as the Rams cruised to a KVAC A win in Brunswick.
Sonja Morse had four doubles for the Rams, who improved to 10-0. Alyssah Dennett added two singles and a double, Veronica Woods had three singles, Sydney Cheever had a single and a double, Molly Russell had two singles and Olivia Deeves had two singles and a double for Cony. Brochu also had two singles. She allowed just one hit, struck out eight and walked one.
Kelly Bridges had the lone hit for Brunswick (1-9).
Gardiner 2, Leavitt 1: Taylor Banister walked and scored on Kristal Smith’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift the Tigers to the KVAC Class B win in Gardiner.
Smith and Brittany Rollins split the pitching duties each striking out two without a walk. The Tigers (10-0) scored in the second inning on an RBI single from Stephanie Plourde. Leavitt scored in the first inning on Sara Pare’s RBI triple.
Monmouth 6, Wiscasset 4: The Mustangs rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull out the MVC win. Kylie Kemp led Monmouth (4-5) hitters with a pair of singles and three runs scored while Caroline Bonenfant doubled and drove in two runs and Daisi Poole singled twice. Kenzie Chancellor had a pair of hits and two RBIs for Wiscasset (2-8).
Girls lacrosse
Gardiner 16, Mountain Valley 11: Brooke Davis had five goals and two assists to lead the host Tigers to the KVAC B win.
Julie Krouse and Ally Day each had three goals and two assists for Gardiner (8-0). Rikki Bryant, Emma Hickey and Kelsey Moody chipped in with one apiece. Maddy Cutler made 15 saves.
Nicole Burgess and Taylor Smart had three goals apiece for the Falcons (2-6). Alexis Dugay and Kayla Pingree scored two goals while Katie Puiie had one. Jordan True made 24 saves.
