In Philadelphia Dr. Kermit Gosnell ran an abortion clinic in which, according to testimony at his trial, live-born babies were murdered by having their spines snipped with scissors.

Because of the unsanitary conditions at the clinic, many women sustained internal injuries, one even died.

The abortion industry is booming, but children — and their mothers — are getting killed.

This is just one case. The May 8 National Review Online “Abortion’s Underside” by Julian Kay Melchior has details about other abortion clinics that are too horrible to print in a newspaper.

These travesties represent a true “War On Women.”

In 2002, President George W. Bush signed the federal Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, mandating legal protection to any live-born baby.

A similar measure — mandating medical treatment of a baby surviving an abortion — was introduced in the Illinois state Senate in 2001. Then-State Sen. Barack Obama voted against it. A similar measure was introduced in 2002 and he voted against it again.

At the instant of conception that which has been conceived begins to grow. This is a biological fact.

And, if it’s growing, it’s alive.
